All members meet at 9:00 am at NEXT. After welcoming all the members Arek makes a tour of the school showing the different workshops of the wood working department in NEXT Tæbyvej, but also other different rooms. Then the schedule for this activity week is given.
Thorsten introduces to everybody the project for the week: renovating old windows.
Students are divided into four groups and ready to work. They spend the rest of the day at the workshop. Teachers are also given a task: they have produce a small part of wood with two small inlets, called `salt and pepper´ and they have to draw on their computer a bird that will be 3D printed during the week.

After lunch everybody goes back to work. The second part of the afternoon was for measuring the bottom part (crossbar) of the windows for drawing on the computer the part students are renovating using Solidworks. At 3:30 p.m. the first work was done.

Tuesday, 01.04.2025

On the second day, after a short presentation of the day everybody goes back to their task: drawing on Solidworks the bottom crossbar in 3D – the full piece with the rebate, the quarter circle and the tenon for students. They draw the volume and extrude the different profiles. Teachers continue in preparing the Shaper machine for the production of the salt and pepper boxes and they focused on drawing the bird in 3D on Solidworks.  After the break Arek makes a presentation of Alphacam.

When lunch is over the students are back at the workshop to manufacture the piece they draw in the morning.

Many visits are planned for this day. The meeting point is at 10:00 a.m. for a visit to the Design Museum. An hour is set aside for a guided tour of the exhibition of Danish and European furniture and cabinets. The group will then take a short ferry trip to Refshaloen. After lunch in Reffen in a place called “The Village”, we all visit Havnens Haender, a company that specializes in renewable building materials. Various types of new renewable building materials are presented. Many materials have been produced using hemp as a raw material and can be used in house construction for walls and roofs. Back on the ferry, we cross the harbor to Nordre Toldboden. There we drive to the Royal Palace. A guided tour of the royal residence's joinery workshop was organized, where some pieces of furniture (tables, cupboards, chairs) are restored or made for representative purposes. A great day of sightseeing with great weather comes to a royal conclusion.

Everyone meets at 9:00 am. The first task is to finish the piece started on Tuesday. There are some problems with this because each country uses different software to draw and create the different parts. Then the trainees create the program for the CNC machine using Alphacam. It is not easy for everyone, but thanks to the support of the teachers and the videos, the work is finally done. After lunch, all groups have to finish their work. Then each group has to check and sand their workpiece. When it is finished and in order, they glue the four frame parts back together to restore the frame of the window. The students have discovered that it is important to know how to machine the wood with the CNC router (Fanuc) along the grain and how to make the curves of the profile with a hole. The holes where the nails and drills were are filled with new pieces of wood. The “salt and pepper” is also realized by 2 teams with the shaper. On teachers meeting they talk about preparing their transnational meeting and the effort for every school, to do lot of work for dissemination in their school, in local, regional, national joiner Interest groups/Stakeholders for the final report.

Last day in Copenhagen for everyone! After taking pictures of each group of students in the workshop with their window frame, we all go for group pictures in front of the main building of the school and pose in front of the flags of the participating countries.  First we take a few pictures together, then the pictures of the teachers and the pictures of the students separately. Then it's time for the evaluation, which is done on the computer, and afterwards all participants receive their certificate of participation for the Erasmusplus cooperation partnership. At the subsequent team meeting of the participating teachers, the next important aspects of the Erasmus+ cooperation partnership are discussed: The transnational team meeting and the dissemination of the project content to third parties and the media. The farewell of all participants is the last point of this activity week.
